Tammy E. Straus, CPA
Tammy Straus has over 25 years of experience in public accounting in acquisition due diligence, auditing, technical accounting consulting, securities litigation support, training facilitation, and data analytics. She has extensive experience managing SEC engagements, including initial and secondary public offerings in energy/utilities, manufacturing/distribution, and financial services.
Ms. Straus has led dozens of financial due diligence engagements in both domestic and international markets in a variety of industries, including manufacturing/distribution, healthcare, construction, and technology. Her diligence clients are primarily financial and strategic buyers seeking information on targets’ quality of earnings, future cash flow items, and critical issues that could affect the purchase price or create opportunities to capture value going forward.
As an example of her international and GAAP conversion experience, Ms. Straus was a lead director on a project performed in Korea to help convert the financial statements of a major bank from Korean GAAP to U.S. GAAP.
Ms. Straus also spent four years performing securities litigation support, where she assisted law firms in understanding the accounting issues and potential audit problems in SEC securities litigation cases.
As part of her most recent position at a top 70 CPA firm, Ms. Straus ran the Employee Benefit Plan practice for several years, which included well over 100 annual audits.
Ms. Straus started her career as a trader of crude oil and petroleum products in the spot and futures markets, and lived a year in Geneva, Switzerland and traveled extensively throughout Europe. Ms. Straus then started and ran a small business until she entered graduate school, where her team won a national business plan competition based on a golf-related product she created.
Ms. Straus holds CPA licenses in New York, Texas, and Vermont, and has a Master degree in Accounting from The University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University.
